Senior Strategy and Business Development Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Strategy and Business Development Manager who is not only a visionary strategist but also a driver of market research, innovation, and growth. In this role, you will collaborate closely with clients to understand their business objectives, develop comprehensive strategies, and lead both internal and external teams in executing those strategies. Your focus will be on fostering long-term partnerships, creating high-impact strategies, and positioning Smart Codes as a leader in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership & Advisory

  • Lead the development of comprehensive strategies that align with client goals, ensuring a balance of creativity and practicality in all recommendations.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance to clients across key areas such as brand positioning, market research, brand architecture, and digital transformation.
  • Drive high-level strategic conversations with senior clients and stakeholders, offering actionable insights that foster business growth and innovation.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to internal teams, ensuring that the execution of strategies is aligned with the overarching vision and business objectives.

2. Business Development & Growth

  • Spearhead new business initiatives, identifying potential clients and opportunities for Smart Codes across various sectors.
  • Drive revenue growth through the development and execution of strategic business development plans, targeting new client acquisitions and expanding existing relationships.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at client organizations, positioning Smart Codes as their trusted strategic advisor.
  • Research and identify emerging trends and new business opportunities to further enhance the agency’s offerings.

3. Market Research & Innovation

  • Collaborate with clients to develop and execute market research initiatives that provide insights into customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Lead the analysis and interpretation of both qualitative and quantitative data to drive strategic recommendations that are data-driven and actionable.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by staying on top of industry developments and incorporating emerging tools, techniques, and platforms into strategies.

4. Strategic Partnerships & Client Retention

  • Nurture long-term client relationships through a deep understanding of their needs and objectives, becoming a trusted partner who drives ongoing business success.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for organic growth within existing clients by proactively suggesting new strategies, solutions, or initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on the development and execution of customer engagement strategies that enhance loyalty and drive measurable outcomes.

5. Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including creative, media, and project management, to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the strategy team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practices, learning, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize strategic processes.

6. Strategic Communications & Reporting

  • Regularly update clients on the progress of strategic initiatives, providing clear, data-backed reports that highlight successes, insights, and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate strategic plans effectively across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment between internal teams and client expectations.
  • Create and manage presentation materials for client meetings, new business pitches, and senior leadership discussions.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in strategy development and business growth within a creative, marketing, or consulting agency environment.
  • Expertise in market research, data analytics, strategic advisory, brand positioning, and business development.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and build lasting relationships with clients and partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive new business, identify opportunities for growth, and secure high-value contracts.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing, media, branding, and emerging industry trends.
  • A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for driving innovation and business transformation.
